The Tuesday neighbourhood group have had a real treat and have been lucky enough to be able to attend ‘Wild about Scotland’ run by the Royal Zoological Society Scotland at Edinburgh Zoo. The project is a series of eight adult education sessions run by experts from the zoo.
Good news: PEP has been chosen by John Lewis in Edinburgh as one of their 3 charities in their ‘community matters’ scheme; this quarter supporting charities who work with people with mental health issues. . The Weekend Resource Group is currently working through a five-week ‘Introduction to Digital Photography and Camera Handling Skills’ course. Run by Luke, our student on placement from the University of Edinburgh, the relaxed and informal sessions cover the basic functions of the camera, as well as a few tips and tricks to help participants get more from their digital cameras.
On the 30th of January 2015 the staff, volunteers and service users of PEP were invited to a civic reception hosted by Edinburgh’s Lord Provost the Rt. Hon. Donald Wilson.
40 lucky people went up to the City Chambers on the Royal Mile. To enjoy an evening designed to celebrate the work of the Pilton Equalities Project. They were all treated to a variety of drinks on arrival and mingled with the Lord Provost and other local North Edinburgh councillors.
