On the 15th of May 16 volunteers from Deloittes Auditors descended on PEP’s community garden. The group were there to weed, tend and plant up some of the garden space.
The weather held out for the day allowing the group to have a picnic lunch in the garden. They tackled the vegetable plot, readying it for the Neighbourhood Group to plant up. They also set to and created a lovely space near the bottom of the garden where they planted a variety of butterfly and bee friendly shrubs.
And finally, after some rummaging in the undergrowth, a Deloittes volunteer hid a ‘hogitat’. This natural looking structure provides a safe haven for hedgehogs and hopefully will encourage this native species to be at home in the garden.
We would like to thank Deloittes for all their hard work.
