The Tuesday neighbourhood group have had a real treat and have been lucky enough to be able to attend ‘Wild about Scotland’ run by the Royal Zoological Society Scotland at Edinburgh Zoo. The project is a series of eight adult education sessions run by experts from the zoo.
The course discusses the diversity and conservation of species in Scotland and is linked to the work of the Royal Zoological Society Scotland and Edinburgh Zoo, the Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie and local conservation projects.
In the sessions so far the group have learned about; Scottish Skies (day & night) which included education about Crows and Bats and Reptiles; and Amphibians in Scotland (the group learned how to handle a python without actually touching one!)
After the session the group have been free to wander around the Zoo to see all the different animals! It’s been a fantastic opportunity and everyone has had a really good time.
