PEP’s annual Christmas party was held on the 22rd of December at the Queensberry Bowling Cub. The club hall looked great with all the Christmas decorations up and the tables all dressed for the celebrations ahead.
This year 63 service users were able to join us for the afternoon. The food as always had been lovingly prepared by PEP staff and volunteers. Keith’s delicious lentil soup started the meal off followed by a full turkey lunch with all the trimmings and a delicious chocolate cake with cream for pudding. The staff and volunteers worked wonders getting all the meals dished out as quickly and efficiently as possible for everyone to enjoy.
After the meal came the entertainment with the music provided by Pat Phelan. Pat knows his audience and always manages to get everyone up dancing and singing and really having a good time!
There were two chances for everyone to get a prize in the raffle. The first raffle included gift sets, wines, chocolates and the lovely Christmassy table plants. But then everything had to stop for a very special visitor… Santa! As everyone sang ‘Jingle Bells’’, Santa and his helpful elves dished out chocolate to everyone there. Thank you Santa, we look forward to seeing him back next year too!
The second raffle consisted of no less than 16 amazing hampers once again donated by Shona and Susan and all their friends from Cupar and Edinburgh. Thank you for thinking of PEP’s service users at this time of year. After a few final dances, it was time for PEP’s drivers to whisk away all the revellers (and their hampers!) to make sure that everyone got home safely.
A huge Christmassy thank you to all the staff and volunteers of PEP who helped on the day and thanks to Pat for the music and the staff at the Queensberry Bowling Club for hosting us once more.
Have a very merry Christmas and a great New Year – from everyone at PEP.
