Welcome to Ryan and Eilidh, PEP’s newest members of staff. They have come on board to run the LOOPS North West Community Navigation Project. LOOPS (Local Opportunities for Older People) is a citywide service designed to let older people know what’s going on in their local area and to help them access the support and services they need.
Across Edinburgh the Community Navigators and teams of friendly local volunteers can support older people to find out what is on in their local area; and how best to access the support that is needed, in the way that is best for the individual.
The North West Community Navigators will be offering:
o Information stations – Over the coming months, Eilidh and Ryan will be setting up information stations for older people to find up to date information about activities, events and services in the area.
o A friendly face – Our friendly staff and volunteers will be there to help talk individuals through what is on offer and what might be best for them
o Free Local LOOPS Magazines – The twice yearly magazine will be produced highlighting services and including articles and features on local events and points of interest.
o Home-visits – Where available and appropriate we will be offering home-visits to make it easier for people to discover the options available and decide for themselves!
