This year’s party at the Queensberry Bowling Club was on the 21nd December. Once again Moira and volunteers Peter and Stephen teamed up and did an amazing job of decorating the tables to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
The hall was packed with 60 people coming along for their annual Christmas lunch with PEP. The food, as always, was prepared by PEP’s dedicated staff and volunteers. This year’s starter was pate and oatcakes followed by turkey with all the trimmings and a black forest gateau with cream for pudding.
The entertainment was provided by Pat, who made a welcome return to the Christmas party. He played music, sang and got the party goers singing too! Everyone danced right up to the end of the afternoon.
The raffle had tonnes of prizes on offer including chocolates and gift sets; some kindly donated by ‘Morrison’s Ferry Road’. Instead of poinsettias, there were lovely little Christmas houseplants. The star prizes were six small food hampers donated by the ‘Cyrenians FareShare’ and two larger hampers, all with a variety of food and snacks to keep the Christmas cheer going on over the holiday season.
Thank you to Pat for the music, the Queensberry Bowling Club for hosting us and providing the bar facilities, to the staff and volunteers for making the day happen and to everyone who came along…. ‘Merry Christmas’!
