The final week of PEP’s summer programme of events included a Trip to Falkirk, the last of the craft classes and a summer party at the Queensberry Bowling Club.
The weather in Falkirk couldn’t have been better; it was a lovely warm day with plenty of sunshine. It was perfect for sitting outside in the clean and safe precinct area after a nice session browsing around the shops. Everyone enjoyed the packed lunches and made the most of a relaxing afternoon.
The final craft class was busy with avid jewellery makers skilfully creating an array of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The colours and designs were inspired with the participants using beads, copper wire and buttons to make their little works of art. The group has worked so hard over the last 4 weeks and the items created have been fantastic. Well done to them all.
The final event of the summer programme for 2017 was the ever popular Summer Party at the Queensberry Bowling Club. The room was packed as the staff and volunteers dished out a delicious summer salad to the party goers. This year the music was provided by Graham and he had everyone up on the dance floor. Even the staff joined in with Helen and Frances stunning everyone with their ‘rockin and rollin’ and Ray enjoying his dances with the ladies!
The raffle had some great prizes including a bottle of Prosecco kindly donated by the bar staff and 2 well stocked food hampers. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with comments of ‘best ever’ echoing around the hall.
As always we would like to say a huge thank you to the Queensberry Bowling Club for providing the venue and bar facilities and for making us feel so welcome. Thank you also to all the staff and volunteers for their hard work setting up and making the event run so smoothly and to Graham for keeping everyone so well entertained.
It was a fantastic end to this year’s summer programme.
