At the end of July PEP held our annual summer party in Queensberry Bowling Club.
As usual the hall was packed full with over 70 PEP service users, staff and volunteers enjoying a delicious buffet lunch and great entertainment from our singer Pat. There was dancing all throughout the day and even a solo number from service user Anne!
It was with great regret that in July PEP said a fond farewell to Elaine Anderson.
Elaine had been the volunteer co-ordinator at PEP since January 2014. During that time she brought on-board many volunteers and even took the time to appear in some of PEP’s Christmas shows. She was well liked and respected by staff, volunteers and service users alike.
She will be missed and we wish her all the best in her new job.
LOOPs NW held their final event this month at the Granton Art Centre, Scotland's first purpose-built art store for paintings, drawings and sculptures from the national collection.
The group of 13 older people attended the Centre to go behind the scenes and examine the collection, before enjoying refreshments and a good chat. It was a successful tour - many thanks to our guide Rosie!
On the 13th December the Granton Baptist Church hosted PEP’s 2018 Christmas show; the hall was packed with up to 140 people who came along to enjoy the festive evening.
Dancers from the ‘Edinburgh Dance Academy’ kicked off the evening with a variety of routines. Their dancing was amazing and the girls and boys wowed the audience with their talent and inspired routines and costumes. They are always a delight to watch!
