Literacy Learners’ Farewell

Sadly, due to the recent council funding cuts; it is with great regret that we have now closed PEP’s literacy service.

However, we went out in style and threw a party! We were delighted that so many learners were able to come along to PEP, share their stories, memories and say goodbye.

The group enjoyed the cakes, teas and coffees… one learner even brought some home-made biscuits made especially for the event. The Literacy Worker Diane and Theodora the Learning and Training Officer both said a few words about their experiences and enjoyment of working with everyone and wished everyone the best for the future.

I am delighted to say that due to the dedication of volunteer tutor Ray, the computing sessions on a Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon will be continuing.

We would like to thank everyone who have supported this valuable service and especially wish to thank all the volunteers who have helped support the learners over the years.

Thank you and farewell from the ‘Learning Corner’.
