Over the past few weeks there's been a #BrewingGood buzz in the head office at Edinburgh Broadway Park as colleagues have been backing the causes they want to support. I'm delighted to let you know that the staff at the Edinburgh Broadway Park office want to back our Summer Programme and are awarding PEP £1,500. We only have another £1,000 to raise. Thanks again to Heineken and their staff for their pledge.
On Wednesday the Neighbourhood Group made the most of the sunshine with a trip to Inveresk Gardens. This hidden gem was wonderfully sheltered and the group enjoyed wandering around admiring the flowers. They even did some wildlife spotting! There was a rabbit and a couple of toads (if you knew where to look!).
During March, Chris Peach from ‘The Conservation Volunteers’ has headed a successive team of volunteers from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to start landscaping PEP’s community garden at West Pilton Park.
The Tuesday groups got into the spirit of Easter with lots of ‘Eggciting’ tasks.
The literacy and numeracy group set to measuring and weighing an assortment of chocolate eggs kindly donated by Morrison’s on Ferry Road. They checked out the best by dates and had a good discussion on prices and value for money… before eating them of course.
Unfortunately PEP is going to be losing its bus parking facilities round at West Pilton Place.
We need secure and accessible parking local to North Edinburgh for our fleet of 10 minibuses. If anyone knows of any organisation or business who can assist this local charity; please ask them to get in touch with PEP’s manager Helen Tait on 315 4466.
PEP’s annual Christmas party was held on the 22rd of December at the Queensberry Bowling Cub. The club hall looked great with all the Christmas decorations up and the tables all dressed for the celebrations ahead.
